    0 Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

This is such a beautiful scripture that really encompasses the nature of God, His goodness towards us, and offers a great assurance of His love for us. God has taken our failures and turned them into successes every single time, and we still marvel at the outcomes of our biggest shortcomings. Does this give us free rein to purposely mess it up? Absolutely not (Romans 6:15 comes to mind), but instead we can delight in the assurance of His kindness that he will provide a better solution way beyond what we ever could.

    0 Prayer (Philippians 2:3-5 / Matthew 5:16)

Today we give God thanks for the privilege of service. Let us humble ourselves before our Lord and reach for His Word for prayer.

Loving Father, we thank you for a new day and another opportunity to serve in love. As we serve today, and the week ahead, let nothing we do be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but instead with lowliness of mind let us esteem others better than ourselves. Let each of us look out not only for our own interests, but also for the interests of all of those that we encounter. Let our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works and glorify you Father, in heaven. Thank you for the amazing opportunity to share you.

In the name of our precious Lord, Jesus, we pray. Amen.

    0 Birth of Messiah

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the governement shall be upon his shoulder; and his name is called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 (Darby)

Isaiah is a favourite book from the Old Testament for many - it is full of precious prophecy on the coming of our Messiah. This particular verse teaches us that our Saviour would be born to the world, and a glimpse of what we could expect from His arrival on earth. At that time, noone would have any idea what this really meant - until Jesus was born, some 700 years later, thus fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah 9:6.

Let's fast forward to the New Testament where we see in both John and Galatians (amongst others) the fulfillment of the prophecy we are taught about is Isaiah 9:6.

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we have contemplated his glory, a glory as of an only-begotten with a father), full of grace and truth; John 1:14 (Darby)

but when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, come of a woman, come under law, that he might redeem those under law, that we might receive sonship. Galatians 4:4-5 (Darby)

Jesus always was; the Alpha and Omega. His purpose here on earth was us. He came to set the captives free. Born to die. Thank-you, Lord. That by your death, we live. That by your shed blood, we are redeemed. That by your resurrection, we live eternally with you.

    0 Proverbs 31:10-11

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.

As our colleague celebrates his 8th wedding anniversary today, he gives God thanks for his wife, and would like to encourage all women of God out there with this beautiful scripture.

    0 Philippians 4:8-9

Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

This is a favourite verse for many. It gives us real insight into the nature of God's character and how we are called to live in Him. This is a prayer we pray for ourselves and our brothers and sisters, alike. Keep going!

    0 Colossians 3:1-3

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3 NKJV

Praise God for you are a new creation in Christ Jesus! Keep your eyes, heart and mind fixed on Him above and the Lord promises that you too will appear with Him in Glory! Praise God!
